However, I find its not necessary.

Gluten-free flour blends that have a bunch of other stuff already added into them (like baking soda, baking powder, etc.) If you use these, you wont be able to use them in your old recipes, youll have to rely on following the recipes published by the company since you cant control the amounts of those other ingredients.
